Pandemic at 160 deaths?

It was just a matter of time.  Why else would we be kept informed every day of the new number of cases of flu and deaths unless it was to give us a “heads up” that something was coming down the line?  The vaccination line, that is.

The World Health Organization labeled swine flu last week as the top of the bell-ringing alarm category of “pandemic.”  They report a world total of 160 deaths.

Yet,  the WHO  Regional Office of Africa reports that in 2003 (the most recent year of their stats)  there were  54,653 deaths from malaria on the African continent.  The number of cases in total for the continent was 43,784,597.   We won’t even talk about other stats in today’s post.

Enter a humble man named “Humble” who has made a dent in the dreadful disease in Africa with his own version of a user-friendly drink.  More on that later.
